Zetamex Network is delighted to announce the release of the Zetaworlds Opensim 0.9 r004-Dragon version for use in Zetaworlds Simulators.
Grid users can download this version at http://wiki.zetaworlds.com/doku.php/releasenotes:dragon-r004 - if you are a Zetaworlds hosted customer, you will be upgraded soon.
The interesting things you want to know about this upgrade are:
- ubODE support has been improved. You can elect to move to ubODE or you can stay with your existing physics - this is dependent on what mesh you have and how it behaves with ubODE. If you have questions about this, feel free to contact us. There has been a lot of discussion about ubODE and mesh; in a lot of cases your older or (as has been said by others) incorrectly constructed mesh will not behave well. Typical issues are being unable to enter mesh houses, or go through mesh tunnels. This said, if you are using newer mesh builds with proper physics planes you will benefit from ubODE.
- Gloebit support is now included as standard. For Zetaworlds hosted sims, you will have this turned on by default using the Zetamex secure key. For self hosted sims, this will be turned off by default - please set up your own secure key with Gloebits, and open a ticket to get it turned on. For more information, please check out http://wiki.zetaworlds.com/doku.php/gloebit :)
- Zetamex's mesh fix for more reliable mesh uploads.
Please see http://wiki.zetaworlds.com/doku.php/releasenotes:dragon-r004 to download the version (if you are self hosted).
As always, let us know if you have questions. You can find us inworld (we always watch the Zetaworlds group chat when we're inworld).
